So, the tale is told… A long time ago in a wonderful Dreamland of India, there lived a Shah Jahan – “the Ruler of the world”.
In 1592 birthplace of the ruler by the Mughal Prince Khurram, a descendant of Tamerlane. When he turned 15 he met a beautiful girl, Arjumand the Banu Lam, the daughter of his chief Minister father, she was a year younger than the Prince.
His beloved, Shah Jahan met at the market, she was selling wooden beads and was so beautiful that cheap crafts seemed to Prince diamonds of pure water. Arjuman was the daughter of the vizier closest to the Sultan and niece of his beloved wife. Continue reading
Famous architectural works of our world
Architecture is a curious phenomenon of human civilization.
The Roman engineer and architect mark Vitruvius in the first century BC are right that it is based on considerations of durability, utility and beauty. This is true, however, such a pragmatic approach is clearly not able to explain the striking differences in the styles of architectural structures that have appeared in different countries and different peoples. Its shape and the sculptures of the ancient temples of India did not correlate with the great pyramids of Giza and Mesoamerica. Stately building, which built by the ancient Khmers, it is not like openwork design of Chinese pagodas. To the Gothic cathedrals of Europe, the construction of which lasted sometimes for centuries, can hardly apply the notion of feasibility. Continue reading
Seven wonders of the world – this is a list of the most famous sights of antiquity (antiquity – Greco-Roman civilization, in all its manifestations). Lists of the seven wonders of the few, first appeared in the fourth century BC, but classical is like this: the Pyramid of Cheops, the Hanging gardens of Babylon, colossus of Rhodes, Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, lighthouse of Alexandria, Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Temple of Artemis at Ephesus.
Pyramid of Cheops – the only one of the “seven wonders of the world”, Dostoevskii to the present day. It is the greatest of the Egyptian pyramids. It was built from blocks of limestone, granite, basalt about twenty years.
