Ancient Greek architecture

The legacy of ancient Greek architecture is the basis for all further development of world architecture and related monumental art. The reasons for this sustained impact of Greek architecture lie in its objective qualities: simplicity, truthfulness, clarity of the compositions, the harmoniousness and proportionality of total and forms of all parts, in plasticity organic connection of architecture and sculpture, in close unity of the architectural and aesthetic and structural-tectonic elements sooruzheniy. Ancient Greek architecture featured a full line of forms and their design bases, were a whole. Basic design — stone blocks of which the walls were laid. Columns, entablature (lying on the support column overlap) treated with different profiles, has acquired the decorative details, enriched with sculpture. The Greeks brought the processing of architectural structures and fixtures to the highest degree of perfection and refinement. The ancient settlement of Kara

Between Evpatoria and Crimea resort Saki is the majestic hill of Kara-Tobe, where was located the ancient Greek-Scythian settlement, excavated and restored to life by professional archaeologists. Excavations on this site were only s year, so the hill the penalty-Tobe became exhibit relatively recently, when, in this mysterious place, it was decided to create a unique Museum under the open sky, available visiting the Crimea tour.

During the tour of the ancient city-Museum we can visualize tradition, culture and life of the ancient Scythian tribes living side by side with the enlightened Greek colonizers. Such cooperation between the two Nations has given rise to a certain commonality of culture, which is most clearly manifested in the objects of everyday life, and many conflicts. Among the most attractive sights of the hill of Kara-Tobe – preserved ruins of the once powerful ancient fortress Eupatorion, founded in the year 110 BC. Continue reading

Megalithic mysteries of Baalbek

In our world, so many mysteries, that a lifetime is not enough to solve them. Moreover, there are some that hardly anyone heard it and knows.

Baalbek is a town in Lebanon, where the world’s largest (known) bricks, really used in construction. Weight about 1000 tons. The most famous of them — the southern stone.

In Baalbek in July 2014 dug up another large megaliths around 1650 tons

In the amusement Park in Switzerland even made a graphic illustration where around a small copy of this stone were placed about 20 reduced copies of modern cranes, which together could raise something like the megalith.
